Question 1 – It seems like is going to help young, talented Ukrainians to leave the country in search of better opportunities abroad. Is it not stimulating the brain drain, which is directly opposite to building a strong civil society in Ukraine?

Answer 1 – Getting the top jobs abroad or getting accepted into top universities is not an easy feat. By all means we want all of the candidates that care to pursue the path abroad to try it. Because we believe that going through the process of getting accepted into a top program or securing a job at a top firm is a highly transformative process in itself.

Writing essays & resumes, taking tests, going through interviews & networking, change a person in amazing ways. All will try, but maybe 10-20% of them will succeed in leaving Ukraine. The rest will go through the transformation, but will end up staying in Ukraine where they can make an impact. We like those odds.
